We created Mais Oui to be more than your typical vacation rental. With all the comforts and privacy of a home but more amenities than a resort, we want your trip to Discovery Bay to be better than you could have ever imagined.
We wanted a place that would ensure you and your group have more than you need for an unforgettable vacation to our favorite island. We’re passionate about showing visitors a truly one-of-a-kind experience and that there is so much more to Jamaica than the inside of a resort.
Our villa staff is just as eager to show you their Jamaica and have you planning your return vacation to our Caribbean island year after year. This is perhaps the number one question that we are asked!
The closest beach, called Little Beach, is about a 2 minute walk from the villa to the end of our road. It is incredibly beautiful and has actually been designated a scenic view by the government of Jamaica. You simply have to take pictures there, especially just before and at sunset. There is a staircase that leads down to the sea and as such, the beach is not handicap accessible. While this beach is great for kayaking, paddle boarding, and snorkeling, it can be temperamental based on the tide and the weather. Sometimes at high tide, the water comes up to the base of the stairs and so there isn’t much sand to lay on. Additionally, this beach varies from rocky to sandy depending on the time of year. This beach is not a private beach so it is possible to see locals as well as other visitors there, especially on public holidays.
Our guests have access to Bengal Beach, called Big Beach, which is about 2 minutes drive to the west of the villa. It is a much larger sandy beach with lots of space for you to go for a long walk or jog. There is a bar as well as restrooms. The beach is about a 10 minute walk along the main road; however, for safety reasons, since there is no proper shoulder along the main road, we recommend using arranged transportation as opposed to walking.
Guests are welcomed to use our membership at Puerto Seco Beach Club, perhaps the highest rated beach club on the north coast. Puerto Seco is about a 5 minute drive to the east of the villa, right in the middle of town in Discovery Bay. Our guests enjoy going there and receive 15% discount on meals and other services.
Our rates do not include meals. The villa is offered on an a-la-carte basis which allows you to custom tailor your vacation to meet your needs.
Mais Oui is about 45-50 minutes by car from the Donald Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, our preferred airport for our guests. The Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston is about 2 ½ hours from the villa. The Ian Fleming Airport in Oracabessa, just east of Ocho Rios is expected to open soon and is over an hour away.
No, you do not. Mais Oui is rented exclusively to one group at a time. We do not rent individual rooms. The number of rooms that you have rented, based on the written rental agreement, will be the number of bedrooms that will be available to you. Unrented rooms are locked off. You never have to worry about sharing the villa, amenities, or grounds with people outside of your rental group.

Our stay at Mais Oui was quite simply exceptional. The villa is lovely, the pool wonderful, the private beach quaint, and the staff extraordinary. The location is perfect as you have easy access to activities in Ocho Rios and Montego Bay. We had a large family celebration of my parents’ 50th anniversary, and the villa offered comfort and plenty of room to spread out. Having a driver was incredibly helpful. I can’t recommend the wonderful vacation spot enough!
