Important Details About Your Quote:

  1. Staff Gratuities
    We are transparent in our pricing. Mais Oui would not be successful if not for the hard work of the on-site staff, our team players. They are our secret sauce. Staff gratuity is visible under the “View more details” tab and is provided as a prepay option for your convenience. This covers the necessary overtime that almost always results as the staff goes above and beyond to make your stay wonderful! Any additional amount is at the guest’s discretion based on the service provided. Guests have the option of either pre-paying the calculated amount as part of their booking or paying it directly to the staff on location in cash. For guests who prefer to not carry cash, we can facilitate by accepting payment via either credit card or Zelle.
  2. Extra guests
    Any additional overnight guest, beyond what is stated in the rental agreement, requires prior permission and payment of the overnight guest rate specified in the rental agreement. All visiting day guests will attract a daily resort fee as specified in the villa rental agreement. The daily resort fee allows access to the property for a maximum of 8 hours and use of available amenities; however, does not include meals. Any visiting guest who elects to stay overnight for any reason will be subject to the additional guest fee.

  3. Food/Groceries
    Meals are a special highlight of a stay at Mais Oui. It is the rare review that does not comment on the quality and standard of the food. To ensure the best culinary experience, we recommend that guests budget US$65 – 75 per person per day for three meals per day at the villa, excluding alcohol. 
    Note this is an estimated budgetary recommendation. It is not a “price”.  The actual cost of groceries will depend on what guests consume and your choices. The chef can shop for you and provide you receipts for what was purchased. You will pay the grocery store directly.

     4. These are a la carte, from our menu and by appointment only. Most guests arrange a spa day or two during their stay.

Tennis Lessons with a Pro
      5. Would you like a tennis pro for the week? Would you like just a few lessons? Let us know!

     6.  Would you like some evening entertainment? A fire dancer? A uniquely designed cake? A DJ? A wine and karaoke experience?                 Would you like to spend an evening on a private luxury yacht?

      7.  There are about 30 attractions within a 30 minute drive of the villa such as river rafting, horseback riding, zip-lining and many,             many more. We are happy to make recommendations based on your interests.

      8. You will need transportation for pretty much all off-site activities unless you plan to only relax at the villa. We recommend hiring             a van and driver service for the duration of your stay or by the day on an as-needed basis. The van driver we use charges                         US$200 per day to transport 1 – 10 persons from the villa to destinations along the north coast between Montego Bay and                       Ocho Rios if booked 2 or more days (US$250 if only booked 1 day. He charges US$300 per day for 2 or more days to transport               11 – 20 persons to same destinations (US$350 if booked for only 1 day). Each daily booking provides 8 hours service and 1 tank                 of gas. Additional gas if necessary is guest responsibility.

Weddings & Events
      9. Mais Oui can currently accommodate intimate events of up to 30 persons. Guests are specifically prohibited from organizing                   and holding any major party event at the Villa beyond normal entertaining (defined as up to two (2) persons beyond the                             number of individuals noted in the rental agreement), unless prior written permission from the Villa owners has been obtained.               All weddings and events, if allowed, require full house booking of all 8 bedrooms and attract at a minimum, a location fee,                         which is quoted separately. There is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 existing in any public place where people are present/gathering. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. When visiting Jamaica, guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and hold Mais Oui Villa and its owners harmless.

COVID-19 and its consequences are no longer unforeseen or unexpected. For extra peace of mind, we strongly recommend and urge  all  guests to buy a comprehensive Cancel for Any Reason(CFAR) trip cancellation insurance policy to cover all members of the rental party for unforeseen events that could affect their entire vacation investment (airfare, villa rental, etc). A plan that covers repatriation (getting you back home) in the event of a positive COVID test should also be considered.

Villas are small operations and cannot be expected to write off lost income from cancellations, as do large hotels. As much as we empathize with people who are in distress, and will go to great lengths to assist our guests, ​ we thank you in advance for not putting us in the awkward position of having to refer you back to our cancellation policy in the event that you have to cancel your vacation and you did not take out the necessary insurance.


The cancellation policy is as stated in our Rental Agreement/Rental Agreement. A short version is as follows:

Cancellations made 60 or more days prior to your scheduled arrival date (90 days for Easter and Thanksgiving) will incur a one-time cancellation fee of 10% of the total villa rental cost for this booking. Alternatively, the guest may choose to reschedule the vacation dates, one time, within the 365 days from date of cancellation, with full credit toward the new reservation in the same season (low, versus high versus holiday week).

No refunds are made for cancellations made 60 days or less prior to arrival, (90 days for Easter or Thanksgiving). If Guest chooses to reschedule the date after the 60 day window, or 90 days for Easter or Thanksgiving, this would be considered a nonrefundable booking.

No part of Christmas or New Years bookings are refundable.

Additionally, there are no refunds for non-use of any goods or services, for individuals who do not arrive, arrive late or who depart early for all or part of the rental period. The Owners reserve the right to cancel any bookings providing written notice is given and any balance paid refunded unless the reason for the cancellation is failure to pay the full balance, in which case no refund applies.
